MB: RM470,000 allocated to repair houses hit by storm in Sepang

SHAH ALAM, April 15 — A total of RM470,000 has been allocated to repair 46 houses damaged by the storm in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi (BBST) on March 6.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the cost is funded by the state government through the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI).

“The houses that were damaged due to the storm in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi is being repaired.

“A total of 46 houses will be repaired at a cost of RM 470,000 funded by the state government through MBI,” he said on Facebook.

On March 6, more than 100 houses around BBST and Pekan Salak were damaged after being hit by a storm due to heavy rain that occurred at about 5pm.

It is learnt that this is the first time such an incident happened in the BBST housing estate and was described as the worst.

The Selangor government had also channelled RM500 assistance to each of the 120 families affected by the storm.
