SHAH ALAM, April 6 — Ramadan bazaar traders have been asked to offer goods and produce at affordable prices as a lot of the people are still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the move would help those in the low-income group in buying food for breaking of fast.

“Ramadan bazaars are usually a hit because various food and delicacies are available there. Therefore, we urge that the prices are kept at an affordable rate so that everyone can enjoy them.

“The traders are also reminded to look after the quality and cleanliness of the food being sold so that there would be no issue of spoiled food or food poisoning,” he told SelangorKini.

Ng had also told the traders as well as the consumers to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.

On Friday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirdudin Shari had said that the local authorities are tasked to observe the SOP compliance at the bazaar to curb the emergence of a ‘bazaar cluster.
