SHAH ALAM, April 16 — The operation of Ramadan bazaars in the state which started on Tuesday is running smoothly and under control.
State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said local councils (PBT) had exercised strict controls at all times to ensure compliance to the standard operating procedures (SOPs.
“We monitor and assess the condition during the two-day the bazaars were in operation. Local councils with highly visited bazaars will implement a new formula so that the SOPs is complied with.
“This step is necessary for the bazaar to continue its operation and at the same time avoid the emergence of ‘bazaar clusters’,” he told SelangorKini.
On Wednesday, the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced to call off the operations of Ramadan bazaars in the state if the public fails to comply with the SOPs.
Amirudin said the warning was due to concerns about the spread of Covid-19 if people are complacent.
