Tengku Permaisuri makes special appearance on RTM’s Berita Perdana

SHAH ALAM, April 2 — Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graciously accepted RTM’s special invitation to deliver news live on its 8pm Berita Perdana slot at Studio Wisma Berita, Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.

A statement posted on the Selangor Royal Office official Facebook page today, said Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin’s special appearance was in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of RTM or Radio Televisyen Malaysia, on April 1.

It was Her Highness’ first appearance as a news presenter since five years ago. The last time the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor went on air was on August 31, 2016.

“Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin worked as a news anchor at RTM for 20 years starting in 1996.

“During her service as a news anchor, Her Highness won the Best TV News Presenter twice at the Seri Angkasa Award, in 2001 and 2005,” it said.

In the same posting, the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, also extended his congratulations to RTM on its 75th anniversary celebration.

The Ruler hoped that RTM would continue to be a platform to disseminate accurate and transparent information to the people, as well as remain relevant as a credible media organisation.
