Three Selangor GLCs receive IBR Asean 2020 award — MB

KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Three Selangor government-linked companies (GLCs) won the International Business Review Asean Awards 2020 for outstanding performance in services.

The companies are KDEB Waste Management, which tops for Corporate Excellence (Utility), Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd for Corporate Excellence (Transformative and Sustainable Mining Management), and Smart Selangor Delivery Unit for Government Delivery Services (Government Services Delivery in Smart State Development).

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the prestigious recognition from the IBR Asia Group is proof that all the commitment and hard work shown by the three state GLCs has borne fruit.

“I am proud of these companies’ achievements. Of course, this recognition is very significant for them to continue to provide the best services to the people in the state.

“However, we see this not as the culmination of the journey, but (on) how to record better results in the future, as well as becoming a competition to other teams or GLC in achieving greater success,” he said.

Earlier, Amirudin appeared as a special guest at the awards ceremony held at the Putra World Trade Center here last night.

The event was officiated by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

A total of 17 other local companies were also listed in the award, including Celcom Axiata Berhad, BIMB Holdings, Al-Ikhsan Sports Sdn Bhd, Sun Life Malaysia and Pilot Constructions Sdn Bhd.
