SHAH ALAM, May 9 — A total of 116 positive Covid-19 cases were registered from the free community screening held in Kajang and Semenyih, yesterday.

Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the figure includes 85 cases recorded in Kajang and the remaining 31 in Semenyih.

“They are among the total 1,681 individuals who participated in the free Covid-19 testing offered by the Selangor government, which took place from 9am to 4pm.

“The number consists of 1,052 people in Kajang and another 629 in Semenyih,” he said when contacted yesterday.

Mohd Noor said that out of the total number of participants, a total of 1,422 individuals had pre-registered via the SELangkah app.

“The other 259 people had registered manually with the help of the Selcare workers at the screening locations,” he added.

The Selangor government is conducting a monitoring programme from May 8 until June 10 to trace active Covid-19 cases across the state.

The two separate screening operations yesterday were held at the Cempaka Hall in Saujana Impian, Kajang, and the Bandar Rinching Community Hall, Semenyih.

The initiative will take place today at the Section 7 Community Hall, Sungai Ramal, and the Kampung Baru Balakong Community Hall, Balakong, from 9am to 4pm.
