PUCHONG, May 22 — The free Covid-19 screening programme in Subang Jaya has received 5,000 registrations as of 12pm today, which is the highest figure since the initiative was carried out.

Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said each individual is given an appointment slot to avoid congestion at the screening location at Laman Sukan in USJ 1.

“The people are urged to pre-register via the SELangkah app to ensure a smooth process.

“We are expecting that the number will increase tomorrow as there will be people walking in at the location who have not pre-registered,” he said when met at the testing operation at Dewan Masyarakat Bandar Kinrara 2, here today.

Mohd Noor said the programme will also be held simultaneously at Dewan Komuniti MBPJ in Jalan PJS 6/1 Kampung Lindungan tomorrow, which has seen some 2,000 registrations.

“We encourage the young people to get themselves tested following the rise in positive cases found in those between the ages of 20 and 40 years old.

“This group are the silent carriers of the virus as they do not develop any symptoms,” he said.

The free screening at Laman Sukan USJ 1 and Dewan Komuniti MBPJ will be conducted from 9am to 4pm.
