Covid-19: 879,384 individuals complete double doses of vaccine

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — A total of 879,384 individuals have completed their double doses of vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme as of yesterday, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said.

Dr Adham tweeted that 1,509,103 individuals have also received their first dose, bringing the total first dose and second dose recipients in the country to 2,388,487 individuals as of yesterday.

Dr Adham said five states that received the highest number of double doses were Selangor with 117,920 followed by Sarawak (90,741), Kuala Lumpur (88,091), Johor (80,519) and Perak (71,984).

As of yesterday, 44.10 per cent or 10,703,736 individuals have registered to receive their vaccination doses with Selangor having the highest number, with 2,797,596 people.

According to the programme planning, the implementation of the first phase from February to April involved 500,00 frontliners, including health workers.

The second phase, from April to August, involves 9.4 million elderly, at-risk individuals and people with disabilities while phase three, which is scheduled from May till February 2022 involves individuals 18 years and above, both Malaysians and foreigners, with a target of 13.7 million or more.
