Free Covid-19 community screening resumes next week

SHAH ALAM, May 15 — The free Covid-19 community screening programme organised by the state government, which stopped during Syawal, will continue on Tuesday next week.

Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the screening on May 18 will be held simultaneously at the MPAJ (Ampang Jaya Municipal Hall) Multipurpose Hall and MPAJ AU2 Multipurpose Hall from 9am to 4pm.

“The next screening is in Sungai Tua (Seri Siantan Hall) and Gombak Setia (Beringin Hall) on May 19, followed by on May 20 in Rawang (Batu 17 Hall) and Taman Templer (Kampung Bendahara Seroja Hall).

“This initiative will continue in Kuang (Kuang Multipurpose Hall) and Seri Kembangan (Seri Kembangan Multipurpose Hall) on May 21,” he told Selangorkini.

He called on the public to take advantage of the programme as almost all positive cases identified involved patients without symptoms.

The Selangor government is actively conducting the Covid-19 surveillance programme through free screening in all 56 state constituencies from May 8 to June 10.

So far, a total of 8,585 individuals have been screened in Kajang, Semenyih, Sungai Ramal, Balakong, Teratai and Dusun Tua, Lembah Jaya and Pandan Indah constituencies.

Of these, a total of 388 Covid-19 cases were detected with almost all being asymptomatic patients.
