SHAH ALAM, May 19 — The Selangor’s free Covid-19 testing initiative that is carried out across the state is part of the state government’s efforts to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amiurind Shari other efforts include setting up the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC), introducing the SELangkah application, and announcing several Selangor economic stimulus packages.

“No doubt the number of cases in Selangor is high but the infectivity rate is still below the national rate due to the continuous efforts to implement the free screenings.

“The state government will continue to handle the Covid-19 outbreak despite the challenges faced,” said Amirudin on Twitter yesterday.

Amirudin had also urged the people in the Sungai Tua constituency to take part in the free screening programme today at Dewan Seri Siantan and Dewan Beringin in Gombak Setia, starting from 9am to 4pm.

“Do not miss out on the chance to participate in the free screening operation. Register via the SELangkah app, avoid becoming silent carriers of the virus and unknowingly posing the risk of infecting others,” he added.

The Selangor government is conducting active monitoring of the Covid-19 situation by initiating free screenings across the state beginning May 8 until June 10.

The screening operations have been carried our in Kajang, Semenyih, Sungai Ramal, Balakong, Teratai, Dusun Tua, Lembah Jaya, Pandan Indah, Bukit Antarabangsa and Hulu Kelang.
