SHAH ALAM, May 14 — Selangor Menteri Besar reminded the public, especially Selangor residents, to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) when celebrating Aidilfitri.
Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said in the joy of celebrating the festival, all parties should be aware that the country is still hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Let us celebrate Hari Raya with gratitude, repentance, but in our happiness, we must remember those who are in a difficult situation. Comply with the SOPs because we are still in the process of curbing Covid-19,” he said in a speech at the Senandung Aidilfitri #KitaSelangor programme which was broadcast online on http://selangortv.my and SelangorTV Youtube channel.
Apart from featuring artists performances, the 75-minute programme included information on the state government’s initiatives as well as short stories on Amirudin’s interactions with the Selangor people.
Among the short story are, Amirudin visiting the Ramadan bazaar with his wife, Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad riding on a motorcycle to buy food to break the fast.
Meanwhile, state executive councillor for culture and heritage Borhan Aman Shah thanked all parties involved in the inaugural programme.
“Thank you to everyone who made the Senandung Aidilfitri #KitaSelangor programme a success, God willing, we will succeed again in the future,” he said.
Broadcasted at 9pm last night, the programme also featured Aisyah, Najwa Latif, Siti Nordiana, Bunkface, Roy, Azmi Caliph Busker and Ahmad Yassin, Salleh Yaacob, Raja Azura and Ropie Cecupak.
The programme was organised by the state government in collaboration with the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (Padat), state Economic Planning Unit (Upen) and GayaTravel, a repeat will be broadcast on Media Selangor Facebook page at 3pm today.
