Selangor mobilises various initiatives to empower human capital — MB

SHAH ALAM, May 1 — The Selangor government continues to implement various initiatives to enhance the skills of its workforce to enable them to stay relevant for future jobs, says Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said this is because the state government recognises the involvement as well as the huge role played by the 3.5 million workforces that formed the backbone of the state’s development.

“The state government is mobilising various initiatives to empower human capital in order to provide additional value to employees, as well as complement the industrial landscape that is currently moving towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0,” he said in a Workers’ Day message posted on Facebook today.

Amirudin said the state government also cares about the welfare of the workers that are in the manufacturing, services, construction, health and other sectors.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), we are determined to protect the welfare of workers by introducing the Selangor Cares economic stimulus package 1, 2 and 3 as well as the Kita Selangor Package to help ease the economic burden caused by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

He added that in facing the challenges of the pandemic, the welfare and safety of employees are important to ensure there is a balance between ‘life and livelihood’.

“Which is why the state government had implemented the Preventing Outbreak at Ignition Site (POIS) programme to ensure that the industry and economy can run and prevent the outbreak of workplace clusters,” he said.

Amirudin concluded his message by wishing, “Happy Workers’ Day, thank you for all your service!” to all workers in Selangor.
