SHAH ALAM, June 29 — A total of 16 Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) employees are stationed to volunteer at the Sunway Convention Centre vaccination centre (PPV) from April 26 to June 25.

Its Corporate and Strategic Management Department deputy director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said the staff from different departments were assigned as chaperones, counter staff and guides.

“The volunteering programme at PPVs is crucial for the country’s vaccination campaigns. Therefore, MBSJ had taken the initiative to place volunteers to assist the workforce at the centre.

“We hope through our two-month contribution, we would be able to help the government in ensuring the smooth vaccination process and at the same time achieve the herd immunity target,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The local council took part in PPV operation during the first phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) involving frontliners, followed by the second phase for senior citizens of 60 year and above.
