SHAH ALAM, June 25 — A total of 196 individuals were suspected to be Covid-19 positive from screenings done by the state government in five constituencies last week.

Selcare Clinic manager, Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the total includes 73 participants in Seri Setia and Taman Medan constituencies during the screenings which were done on Saturday, while the remaining 123 individuals were detected from Sungai Tua, Gombak Setia and Taman Templer constituencies on Sunday.

“In total, there were 2,702 individuals who took part in the screening programme with 1,267 of them in Petaling Jaya and 1,435 in Batu Caves,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini, today.

Commenting on the lower number of participants during the third phase of the screenings, he said most of the residents from targeted areas have done their screenings during the second phase and now the community is focusing more on vaccination.

“The community is more focused on getting their dose after their screenings, hence most of them are taking the approach to ‘self-lockdown’ at their homes due to the movement control order (MCO).

“The community screening programme will continue this week in Kajang constituency tomorrow, followed by Hulu Kelang and Bukit Antarabangsa constituencies on Sunday, all from 9am to 6pm.
