TANJONG SEPAT, June 4 — About 700 individuals participated in a free Covid-19 community screening organised by the Selangor government in the Tanjong Sepat constituency today.

Tanjong Sepat assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah said although the number was less than other state constituencies, the participation of residents was still considered as high as the area is not an urban area.

“About three weeks ago, we also conducted a free screening on Syawal 1 and almost 1,000 people were screened and 34 of them were suspected to be Covid-19 positive.

“In these two screenings, we can see a high number of people coming for the testing. This shows that the level of public awareness on screening is getting higher,” he said when met at the screening held at Kompleks Muhibbah.

Borhan said his team publicised the programme using the public address system method to the entire population yesterday.

The community screening was also conducted simultaneously from 9am to 4pm at the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) hall in Banting Baru under the Morib constituency.

Since the programme was launched on May 8 until yesterday, a total of 87,903 individuals had participated in the free Covid019 community screenings that covered the districts of Gombak, Hulu Langat, Petaling, Klang, Sepang and Kuala Langat.

Out of that number, 3.6 per cent or 3,168 participants were suspected to be Covid-19 positive after screened using Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag).
