Apply temporary licence from local councils to do business during MCO — Exco

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, June 29 — Individuals who are affected by the Covid-19 outbreak and want to start up a small business are encouraged to apply for a temporary licence from the local councils.

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the move will facilitate business operations and ensure traders are operating in safe areas without disrupting the traffic.

“We expect the number of traders will increase due to the extension of the MCO 3.0 (movement control order). The pandemic has caused desperation to many people and some of them need to start doing small businesses to survive.

“We encourage them to apply for the temporary licence. The state government is ready to help them in generating income,” he told SelangorKini today.

In March, Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari urged the local councils in the state to facilitate the application process of temporary licences to those affected by the pandemic.

He said the agencies need to provide specific locations for the small traders and car boot sales.
