Eight men nabbed for rioting in Klang

SHAH ALAM, June 2 — Eight men have been arrested for rioting in connection with an attack on a family in Jalan Sungai Jati, Klang, yesterday.

Klang Selatan district police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said the victims lodged a police report at 7pm on the incident, which went viral on social media.

“A group of men attacked the complainant and the family with sticks and crash helmets (outside their house) and also threw stones and bottles into the house,” he said in a statement today.

Shamsul Amar said the suspects, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested between 9pm and 10pm, three of them at the scene.

Two of the suspects nabbed at the scene are brothers while three suspects had criminal records, he added. All the suspects have been remanded for between two and three days.

Police also seized a Yamaha motorcycle, a Honda car and two crash helmets.
