KUALA SELANGOR, June 7 — Selangor government aims to get more than 100,000 individuals to undergo its free Covid-19 community screenings programme before it ends on June 10.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said as of yesterday, a total of 91,586 people had been screened in 46 state constituencies, of which 3,237 individuals were suspected Covid-19 positive with most being asymptomatic cases.

“There are eight more state constituencies to go until June 10. So far, the programme has been successful as many people came out to participate in the screening even during the movement control order period,” she said during a visit to the community screening at Kampung Bukit Kuching Tengah Public Hall under the Jeram constituency here today.

From May 8 to June 10, the state government is conducting a monitoring programme to trace active Covid-19 cases through free screening in all 56 state constituencies.

The program under the Covid-19 Pandemic Mitigation Phase benefits people who are at risk, have been in close contact, have symptoms and are worried about their health status, so far it has been carried out in 46 state constituencies.
