Increase vaccination rates, more flexibility to buy vaccines — Anwar

By Nur Aishah Mohd Amin

SHAH ALAM, June 6 — The government is urged to speed up its Covid-19 immunisation programme as the pandemic is spreading fast.

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Putrajaya should focus on those who want it and have registered to receive the vaccinations.

“You are slow to order vaccines, people are suffering for a long time, there are more deaths. Busy making a fuss over anti-vaxxers, this group is small, give priority to those who have already registered.

“It is our responsibility to save them,” he said in a special mandate from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) that was broadcasted online today.

Apart from that, Anwar also asked the government to give flexibility to any company that has the ability to buy the Covid-19 vaccine themselves.

“Because of the emergency situation, the urgency and people dying, so hurry up give them flexibility. Let them buy it. Why do we want to postpone when they have the ability,” he said.
