Lockdown: Selangor Smart Bus passenger capacity reduced by 50 pct, routes remain

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, June 3 — The number of passengers allowed to ride the Selangor Smart Bus is reduced by 50 per cent during the total lockdown period under the movement control order (MCO) until June 14.

State executive councillor for public transport Ng Sze Han said this in line with the National Security Council (NSC) standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce Covid-19 spread.

“The state government hopes that passengers and bus drivers will not violate the instructions and together comply with the SOPs to break the chain of infection,” he told SelangorKini.

According to Ng, all Selangor Smart Buses including the PJ City Bus operate as usual on its 50 routes throughout the state.

The government implemented total lockdown nationwide for two weeks starting Tuesday due to the increasing number of Covid-19 infections that reached more than 8,000 cases a day.
