Luas: 24-hour surveillance across Selangor’s water sources continues during lockdown

SHAH ALAM, June 1 — Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (Luas) will continue carrying out the 24-hour surveillance across Selangor’s water sources during the full movement control order (FMCO) period.

The state agency in a statement today said the move is to ensure that incidents of pollution that could potentially cause water treatment plants to cease operations and lead to water disruption are prevented.

“Luas has mobilised its Luas Speed Squad to conduct the 24.hour surveillance across the main water source areas to make sure that water source pollution incidents would not take place during the MCO,” the statement read.

Luas said its main office and two other branches, namely in Section 15, Shah Alam, and Bangi, is closed during the total lockdown phase one from today until June 14.

For any enquiries regarding Luas’ services, the public can reach the agency via Whatsapp at 019-2647904 or e-mail [email protected].
