MB congratulates rider Syarifuddin over victory in Spain

SHAH ALAM, June 15 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari congratulated young Malaysian rider Syarifuddin Azman for emerging victorious at the FIM CEV Moto3 Race in Barcelona, Spain on Sunday (June 13).

Amirudin said the success achieved by the 20-year-old Selangor-born youth made the country famous in the racing arena of the category at the international level.

“The waving of the Jalur Gemilang and the singing of the Negaraku song in Barcelona recently is an inspiration to young people all over the country. Well done and congratulations!” posted Amirudin on his Facebook today.

The Selangor-born rider, better known as Damok, emerged victorious after crossing the chequered flag in 29 minutes and 32.553 seconds in the 74.5-kilometre race, beating Spaniards David Munoz Rodriguez and Jose Antonio Rueda Ruiz to second and third places respectively.

The 25 points from the win helped Syarifuddin climb up to sixth place in the world championship standings, with 30 points after three races.
