SHAH ALAM, June 17 — A mobile counter to register senior citizens for vaccination opens today at Sasaran Sungai Buloh, in Kuala Selangor, starting from 8.30am.
Bukit Melawati state assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli said the initiative is to ensure more people in the high-risk group get vaccinated.
“The Bukit Melawati Community Service Centre will assist with the registration, help identify if there is transportation needs to go to the vaccination centres (PPV), as well as give out information on the vaccination campaign.
“This programme will be conducted in each village and selected localities to help vulnerable groups such as the elderly and OKUs (persons with disabilities) to register for vaccination,” she posted on Facebook.
On June 15, the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) begin tracking down senior citizens in Selangor who have yet to register for vaccination.
So far, the second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) in Selangor has registered 88 per cent out of the total number of senior citizens registered in the state.
