Opening of special vaccination centre for OKUs at Bangi postponed

PUTRAJAYA, June 19 — The opening of the vaccination centre (PPV) designated for persons with disabilities (OKUs) at the Pusat Latihan Perindustrian dan Pemulihan (PLPP) Bangi, scheduled for June 21, has been postponed due to Covid-19 infection cases in the area.

The Social Welfare Department (JKM), in a statement today, said that the decision to postpone the opening of the PPV was made after further discussions with the district health office, to ensure safety and avoid the risk of Covid-19 infection.

It said that a new opening date will be announced later, and if there are any problems or enquiries public can contact Talian Kasih at 15999 or WhatsApp at 019-2615999, which operates 24 hours daily.

Yesterday, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun was reported to have said that the opening of the PPV at PLPP Bangi would be expedited for the vaccination process for the disabled.
