SHAH ALAM, June 11 — Food and beverage manufacturer Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad in Section 15 here has received praises from the authorities for its effective implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb Covid-19.

Shah Alam District Police chief Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib urge all sectors of the manufacturing industry to emulate the well-known company, reported Berita Harian today.

“I hope other industrial factories can follow the way this company implements SOPs in the workplace,” he said after inspecting the factory’s operations today.

On January 22, Nestlé became the first factory to fulfil the Preventing and Detecting Outbreaks at Ignition Sites (POIS) components that were designed to curb and reduce workplace clusters.

The criteria include the use of the SELangkah platform, the establishment of a committee consisting of several small groups with different functions and early detection testing.

As of May 30, more than 120 companies employing 50,000 workers have joined POIS.

The system set up by the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) is able to identify positive cases aside from ensuring that factory operations are not affected.
