SHAH ALAM, June 25 — Selangor government will allocate a total of 2,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine to tourism industry players.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said the two-dose vaccine would benefit 1,000 recipients, as well as curb any outbreak when the sector return to operation.

“Hotel operators, industry players who have yet to be vaccinated can discuss with Tourism Selangor to get the jabs,” he said
during the Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara virtual talk show titled ‘Strategies to Save the Tourism Industry’ that was aired live on Media Selangor’s Facebook page and SelangorTV Youtube channel today.

According to him, the enforcement of the movement control order (MCO) has severely impacted the state’s tourism sector which had contributed RM15.5 billion of revenue in 2019.

“The restriction of movement has affected many industries whether hotels or food outlets… we hope the tourism sector can reopen again,” he said.
