SHAH ALAM, June 30 — Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) has garnered three awards at the 2021 Malaysia Technology Expo: Covid-19 International Innovation Awards II on June 17.
Its president, Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain said the awards were won from a single innovative product the GF Supermask, which is a new technology face mask.
“This GF Supermask is reusable after washing because the graphene (carbon) on the face mask can still remove bacteria when it is dried in a hot place.
“Congratulations to the representatives of the MPSepang team, namely the Selangor Sepang Innovation Crew Group (Kiss) and the Sepang National Youth Advance Skills Training Institute (IKTBN) who worked together to produce this product,” he said in a statement.
The team won the Gold Medal Award, the Special Award from the International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA) and the Best Award from the Prime Minister’s Department.
This is the second time the expo was held, it aims to recognise the private sector, government and institution of higher learning in the production of innovations, it is organised by Protemp Exhibitions and Conference Sdn Bhd in collaboration with several government agencies.
It attracted 100 entries from researchers, professors, doctors, academics representing various organisations and countries such as Ukraine, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Poland and Turkey.
