SHAH ALAM, June 15 — The third phase of the Selangor’s Covid-19 community screening is proposed to involve hotspot areas in eight state constituencies.

Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir suggested that the programme be held in Seri Setia and Taman Medan this Saturday, followed the next day in Gombak Setia, Sungai Tua and Taman Templer, while Kajang on June 26, apart from Hulu Klang and Bukit Antarabangsa on June 27.

According to him, the proposal has been submitted to the state government which will make a decision in the near future.

“The selection of areas are based on previous screening results which showed that the locations recorded an infection rate of more than 5 per cent.

“We hope more people will come for the screening and registration method is the same as in the second phase,” he said when contacted here today.

Under the Kita Selangor Package 2.0, the state government has allocated RM10.7 million to implement the third phase of the free Covid-19 community screening.

Since its introduction last year, the programme has screened more than 100,000 people in Selangor through two phases.

The first phase was initiated beginning the first movement control order (MCO 1.0) with more than 26,000 individuals screened while 97,565 people had participated in the second phase, which ran from May 8 until June 10
