Unisel student emerges best student at MIA international conference

SHAH ALAM, June 18 — A Universiti Selangor (Unisel) student has bagged the Best Accounting Student award at the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) International Accounting Conference 2021, held virtually from June 8 to 10.

Unisel’s corporate communications head Hasril Abu Hassan in a statement today said, Muhamad Farid Wahid, 26, will also receive a professional management scholarship from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and RM500 in cash.

He said Muhamad Farid completed his Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) in December 2020 and now holds a position under Petronas Protégé- Graduate Employability Enhancement Scheme (GEES) as a junior executive.

In the same statement, Muhamad Farid expressed his gratitude and pride for being selected to win the award, adding that he was proud to be an inspiration to other students, especially those in the accounting programme.

“Millions of thanks to my family, lecturers, and friends who have supported me over the years. I hope I can inspire others,” he said.
