SHAH ALAM, July 5 — Some 17,000 residents at Mentari Court in Petaling Jaya have undergone the Covid-19 screening.
The Health Ministry (MOH) said its healthcare workers had carried out house-to-house visits to conduct the testing operation to ensure all of the residents in the area are tested to curb the spread of the virus.
“The screening operation involves about 17,000 residents of 3,469 apartment units in the area.
“Plan to get the residents vaccinated on Sunday (yesterday) had to be postponed until the screening operation is fully completed,” said MOH on a Facebook post today.
It said the testing initiative was carried out in collaboration with various agencies including police, armed forces, Petaling Jaya City Council and Petaling Land and District Office.
Beginning July 1, Mentari Court was placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) for 14 days after recording 500 positive Covid-19 cases in the area.
The other two localities enforced under the EMCO include Pangsapuri Westlite-PKNS and Taman Perumahan SS91A in Sungai Way.
