1,800 Bukit Gasing residents jabbed through Selvax Community

PETALING JAYA, July 16 — A total of 1,800 residents in Bukit Gasing have received their Covid-19 vaccines under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) for the community (Selvax Community) today.

State representative R Rajiv said the residents are among the first group who have registered with the constituency’s community service centre throughout this week.

“Most of the vaccine recipients are youths as the majority of the elders have been vaccinated through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

“We did not focus on any targeted group, as long as that particular individual wants to get vaccinated and lives in the Bukit Gasing state constituency,” he said when met at the Tropicana Garden Mall vaccination centre (PPV) here today.

Rajiv said his team will go to the ground and visit the neighbourhood areas to find individuals who want to get the vaccine but do not know how to register.

“This will be done in the second phase. We want to fully utilise the 2,500 vaccination slots provided by the state government so that the herd immunity can be achieved and the people will be protected,” he said.

Selvax was launched to complement and speed up the national vaccination programme for the people in Selangor and it includes Selvax Community and Selvax Industry for the workers.

The programme would benefit 1.25 million people in the state especially the low-income group, elders and Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat recipients.
