3,000 quotas still available for RM150 special assistance to kindergarten teachers

SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Over 3,000 kindergarten teachers in Selangor who have yet to apply for the one-off payment of RM150 are welcomed to do so when Phase Two of the application opens on August 15.

Only 7,177 applications were received for the initiative under the Kita Selangor Package 2.0 that was launched on June 9, in which  10,197 kindergarten teachers are targeted to benefit.

Selangor State Secretary Office Human Resource Management Division secretary Mohd Hafeez Shaari said the link for the application form can be accessed via registered kindergarten associations as well as the district education office.

“Therefore we hope the kindergarten teachers will apply for the assistance when Phase Two of the application starts from August 15 to September 6,” he said when contacted.

As for the kindergarten operators who are entitled to a one-off payment amounting to RM450, he said they received 1,412 applications that exceeded the 1,018 quotas.

“The assistance applications for teachers and kindergarten operators under Phase One are currently being processed and the payment is expected to be disbursed next month,” he said.

On June 9, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the RM150 one-off assistance to 10,197 kindergarten teachers while some 1,018 operators will be given RM450 aid under the initiative which involved a total allocation of RM1.99 million.

The initiative for the teachers and operators is included in the plan amounting to RM551.56 million to help 1.6 million people in the state who are affected by the movement control order, especially the low-income B40 group, students, small entrepreneurs, farmers and tourism players.
