All-time high of 17,045 new Covid-19 cases recorded, cumulative figure surpass 1 mln mark

SHAH ALAM, July 25 — Malaysia has recorded an all-time high of 17,045 Covid-19 cases in a single day, pushing the cumulative total for positive cases to 1,013,438, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted today.

Yesterday, Malaysia registered 15,902 total daily infections.

Selangor had topped the list today and saw another record-high with a total of 8,500 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,045.

“A total of 1,216 cases were recorded in Kedah, followed by Johor (950), Sabah (818), Perak (609), Penang (573), and Negeri Sembilan (513),” he said.

Other states registering three digits are Pahang with 424 cases, Sarawak (407), Melaka (370), Terengganu (273), and Kelantan (266), while 50 cases are recorded in Putrajaya, Labuan (21) and Perlis (10).
