SHAH ALAM, July 4 — Some 3,000 residents in the Bukit Antarabangsa state constituency will be receiving their Covid-19 shots beginning today.

Its state constituency coordinator Suzana Shaharudin said the immunisation operation under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) will be held at Dewan Serbaguna MPAJ AU5 until tomorrow.

“The vaccine recipients are those who have registered with the community service centre during the recent third phase of the Covid-19 community screening operation in Hulu Klang and Bukit Antarabangsa.

“Aside from targeting the recipients of the government aid schemes — Skim Mesra Usia Emas, Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor and Skim Peduli Sihat — the vaccines are also offered to small traders and those from low-income groups,” she said when contacted by SelangorKini.

On June 30, the state government had introduced the Selvax Community initiative, which aims to inoculate the elderly and B49 groups, and Selvax Industry for workers in the state.

A total of 2.5 million doses of vaccine are allocated for the programme, which would benefit 1.25 million individuals, to expedite the process to reach 80 per cent herd immunity by October.
