SHAH ALAM, July 27 — The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) enforced at Pangsapuri Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1, Klang, may end ahead of schedule.

Klang district officer Mohd Zainal Mohd Nor said that a proposal for the EMCO to end earlier is being drafted due to several factors, including that all of the residents in the area have been inoculated against Covid-19.

“The District Health Office (PKD) is preparing the proposal to end the EMCO earlier than the initially slated schedule on July 31.

“A total of 1,116 residents have completed the inoculation process on Sunday, except those who were confirmed Covid-19 positives,” he told SelangorKini.

Mohd Zainal said 212 individuals out of the 626 residents that were screened have tested positive for Covid-19.

“They have been called to the Covid-19 assessment centre today to be assessed whether they should continue with home quarantine or be placed at the mini Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC).

“As for Category 3 and 4 patients, they will be warded at the hospital for further treatment,” he said.

On July 16, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that several areas in Selangor would be placed under EMCO for two weeks from July 18 to 31.

The localities involved were Damai Apartment in Damansara, Petaling, Jalan Pandan Indah in Ampang, Hulu Langat, Jalan Batu Nilam and Bandar Bukit Tinggi in Klang, Klang, and Taman Samudera in Batu, Gombak.

However, Ismail Sabri had announced the EMCO at Damai Apartment to have ended one week earlier ahead of schedule on July 25.

Other localities in Selangor that were placed under the EMCO but had ended sooner include the Mentari Court apartment in PJS8 and Westlite PKNS, Petaling Jaya.
