EMCO: Mini PKRC to treat residents of Pangsapuri Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, July 22 — A mini Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) will be set up to treat infected residents of Pangsapuri Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1 in Klang, which has been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

Klang district officer Mohd Zainal Mohd Nor said the centre would use a nearby multipurpose hall that has the capacity to accommodate 50 patients.

“We would not put up beds but use cubicles from the Social Welfare Department. So far the centre is not operational yet as the screening to detect symptomatic individuals only starts tomorrow (July 22).

“However, this centre is only for Covid-19 category 1 and 2 patients, (with no or mild symptoms). They can receive treatment and be monitored without having to go to a quarantine centre that is far from here,” he told SelangorKini yesterday

Beginning July 18, the 11 blocks apartment complex consisting of 969 units, was subjected to EMCO for two weeks following an increase in Covid-19 infection.

The same order was also enforced in three other areas in the state, namely Flat Taman Samudera in Batu, Damai Apartment, PJS 8 in Damansara, and Jalan Pandan Indah in Ampang.
