EMCO: Selangor police to track those in need to give assistance

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, July 3 — Selangor police will help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

State police chief Dato’ Arjunaidi Mohamed said he has issued an order in which police station chiefs and their personnel are asked to identify those in need to be given immediate assistance.

“In Selangor, I am stepping up (efforts) so that we are more proactive in tracking this group (those in need). After identifying, we will help by connecting them with the relevant agencies such as the zakat board,” he said.

He said this during Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara virtual talk show titled ‘EMCO in Selangor: What You Need To Know’ that was aired live on Media Selangor’s Facebook page and SelangorTV Youtube channel yesterday.

Arjunaidi said the public could also channel information to them by contacting the nearest police station.

“Some may be having depression due to financial problems, so go contact the station at any time. We will help them to get assistance in terms of financial and counselling,” he said.

On July 1, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced EMCO will be imposed in 34 subdistricts in Selangor for 14 days, starting from today (July 3) to July 16.
