Fuel prices: RON97 up one sen, RON95 and diesel unchanged

KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — The retail prices of RON95 petrol and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre (l) respectively for the period of July 8 to 14, while the price of RON97 will increase by one sen from RM2.69/l to RM2.70/l.

The Ministry of Finance in a statement today said the prices are based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

“To protect consumers from global oil price increases, the government will maintain the ceiling price of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, even though the APM market prices for both products have increased beyond the current ceiling prices,” the statement read.

The statement also said that the government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people.
