SHAH ALAM, July 3 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari praised the efforts of the state police chief Dato’ Arjunaidi Mohamed and his contingent who wanted to help those affected by Covid-19, despite being busy on duty.
Amirudin said such humanitarian instincts are much needed during this time as shown when Arjunaidi and his policemen come together for the people who are affected.
“This kind of human instinct (naluri kemanusiaan) is much needed when the people are struggling to get on with their lives and face the pandemic. Congratulations Dato’ Arjunaidi and the Selangor police contingent,” he posted on Twitter yesterday.
Yesterday, during Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara virtual talk show titled ‘EMCO in Selangor: What You Need To Know’ that was aired live on Media Selangor’s Facebook page and SelangorTV Youtube channel, Arjunaidi said his team will help those affected by the pandemic especially in areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
“In Selangor, I am stepping up (efforts) so that we are more proactive in tracking this group (those in need). After identifying, we will help by connecting them with the relevant agencies such as the zakat board,” he said.
On July 1, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced EMCO will be imposed in 34 subdistricts in Selangor for 14 days, starting from today (July 3) to July 16.
