Selvax: Selgate assures no issue of selling vaccination slots

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, July 15 — Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd (Selgate) has assured that there is no issue over the selling of vaccination slots under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) via the SELangkah mobile application.

Its managing director and chief executive officer Dr Muaz Omar said only individuals who have registered under Selvax Community and Selvax Industry initiatives will be vaccinated at the designated vaccination centres (PPV).

“For Selvax Industry, we received their names and identification number from their employers and as for Selvax Community, the details are obtained from the state constituency office. They will not get the vaccine if their names are not on the list and the identification card cannot be verified.

“Therefore, there is no issue (of selling vaccination slots) as long as they have their name listed either under Selvax Community or Selvax Industry. To date, we have not detected such an incident as the probability for it to happen is slim,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini today.

Dr Muaz also emphasised that the SELangkah system, which was developed by the state government, ensures the protection of public data to avoid any information leakage.

“According to the company’s ethical code, we ensure the protection of public information in accordance with the Private Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010. Therefore, those who have registered via SELangkah for the Selvax programme do not need to worry as their personal data is kept private.

“We would catch any of the workers or officers who misuse or leaked the information,” he added.

Under the Selvax Industry initiative, the state government had allocated a total of two million vaccine doses to one million workers, including the foreign workers as part of the effort to curb the outbreak from the workplaces.

Meanwhile, for Selvax Community, 500,000 doses were allocated and it is expected to benefit 250,000 people.
