SHAH ALAM, July 21 — The Covid-19 Vaccination Outreach programme for Taman Desawan residents in Klang that was held on Sunday to combat the pandemic had gone on smoothly.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Share said the residents who turned up, especially the elderly and weak, were given good treatment by the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) and district health centre.

“Many thanks to JKNS and those who have participated at the Covid-19 Vaccination Outreach Programme, in joining our continuous fight against the pandemic,” he said on Facebook, today.

He also shared a video of his visit to the vaccination programme held at the Soka Gakkai Malaysia (Selangor Branch) Cultural Centre, on Sunday.

The video explained the new approach taken by the JKNS in administering vaccines to residents in housing areas that recorded high numbers of infection.

The video showed some of the 1,600 residents at Taman Desawan who participated in the programme and mentioned that it will be expanded to other housing areas as well.

“This is the second approach carried out by the JKNS with the district health office and it will be implemented according to the suitability of the area so that the vaccination process can go on smoothly.

“The vaccines were administered to those who still have not gotten their appointment slots, have mobility problems and do not have access to get their vaccines,” according to the video.
