SHAH ALAM, July 6 — Touch n’ Go went the extra mile by assigning several employees to volunteer at the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) vaccination centre (PPV) to facilitate the Selvax Industry initiaitve.

Its chief human resource officer Erlny Greiss said the staff were stationed at the Tropicana Garden Mall PPV on the same day other Touch n’ Go employees had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from June 28 to July 1.

Erlny said in support of the Selvax Industry initiative, Touch n’ Go organised a company-sponsored vaccination programme which was extended to all employees and this move was carried out to help achieve herd immunity.

“We recognise the importance of vaccination and encourage our employees to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones,” she said when contacted by SelangorKini today.

On June 30, Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari had launched the Selvax Industry programme as well as announcing several major participating companies.

Apart from Touch n’ Go, other major companies include 99 Speed Mart, Ernst & Young, Telekom Malaysia, EcoWorld and Tropicana.

The programme is part of the state government’s effort to protect the workers and community given that most of the positive cases were from workplace clusters.
