8,239 out of over 11,000 applications approved for RM20 Grab rebate — MB

SHAH ALAM, Aug 2 — The Selangor government has approved a total of 8,239 applications for the RM20 rebate for using e-hailing Grab rides to vaccination centres (PPVs), as of August 1.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said 11,223 applications were submitted for the transport rebate incentive.

In an infographic shared on Facebook today, the Menteri Besar said a total of 3,420 Grab rebate vouchers have been redeemed by people in Selangor that were used to transport themselves to the PPVs.

“A total of 8,239 applications were approved with total spending of RM68,400.

“Registration is still open. Visit https://rebatpengangkutangrabvaksin.borangmbiselangor.com/ to sign up,” Amirudin added.

Applications for the transport rebate programme of RM10 for a one-way trip of RM20 for a round trip was open from June 20 for rides to all PPV in the state and Kuala Lumpur between July 1 and September 30.

The Grab RM20 rebate is part of the incentive to encourage and facilitate the people in getting vaccinated against Covid-19. The initiative was announced in the Kita Selangor Package 2.0 with a total allocation of RM1 million.

Previously, the initiative was only open to those aged 50 and above. The expansion of the service to all age groups is expected to benefit almost 50,000 individuals statewide.
