SHAH ALAM, Aug 1 — Some 90,000 employees in Selangor have received their Covid-19 shots under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax), which features the Selvax Industry initiative for workers in the state.

Selgate Corporation chief executive officer Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth said the figure is part of the 800 companies recorded within a month since the programme was launched on June 26.

“The companies involved covers various different industries. We are in the process of approving 3,000 more companies. At present, there are more than 32,000 companies that have signed up.

“The employers are also finalising the number of employees to be part of the programme as some of them have received their appointments via MySejahtera,” said Noor Hisham during a press conference during the Sirim-Selvax Drive-Thru Vaccination Programme at the Sirim Headquarters conducted by Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd yesterday.

He said some companies operating in other states namely Johor, Penang, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Perak have also registered under the programme.

However, he said that Selvax is not open to other states as it focuses on the workers in Selangor.

The Selangor government has allocated a total of two million vaccine doses for workers in Selangor, including foreigners, under the Selvax Industry programme, whereas the Selvax Community initiative aims to benefit 250,000 Selangor people involving 500,000 doses of vaccine.
