Muhyiddin meets leaders of PN components, partners for two hours

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 11 — Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today spent about two hours meeting top leaders of component parties and partners of Perikatan Nasional (PN) at Perdana Putra here.

Among those present were Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman, and MCA president and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Earlier, social media was abuzz with speculation that Muhyiddin would be holding a special meeting with heads of component parties and partners of PN at the Prime Minister’s Office at 5 pm today.

A vehicle carrying Abang Johari was seen entering Perdana Putra at 4.36pm, followed by Wee’s car at 4.53pm.

A car ferrying Muhyiddin, who is PN chairman, left Perdana Putra at 7.22pm, followed by Abang Johari.

Wee’s car was spotted leaving the place at 7.05pm, followed by that carrying PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

Members of the media had gathered outside the gates in the hope of getting comments from the leaders but to no avail.

No official statements were released on the meeting but it was believed to be connected to the latest political developments in the country.
