NaDI helps 970 women entrepreneurs survive, thrive during pandemic

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Aug 28 — A total of 970 women entrepreneurs in the state have benefited from the Niaga Darul Ehsan (NaDI) initiative as of July 26, says Selangor Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the effort to empower the group during the Covid-19 pandemic involved a cost of RM3.945 million.

“Through this initiative, entrepreneurs can apply for a business loan from as low as RM1,000 to RM5,000 without the need for premise ownership or certification from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

“The state government sees this effort as an agenda to empower women in Selangor through entrepreneurship,” he said on Facebook yesterday.

NaDI was announced in the 2021 Selangor Budget to assist small-scale women entrepreneurs to start or grow their businesses.

With an allocation of RM10 million, the scheme was further expanded in the Kita Selangor Package and had helped many traders face the economic slowdown following the Covid-19 outbreak.

The easy financing scheme without any conditional requirements to the premise ownership or company registration aims to benefit 3,000 small scale entrepreneurs.
