SHAH ALAM, Aug 16 — The Selangor Local Youth Movement (PeBS) Enactment will be among the focus during the upcoming Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting scheduled to take place beginning August 23.

State executive councillor for youth development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the enactment was formulated to ensure that all of the youth associations in the state would be governed under a single entity.

“The move would also enable the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS) to fully focus on sports development in the state.

“There will be improvements made to PeBS such as creating their own identity as well as addressing the employment issues among the youth,” said Mohd Khairuddin when met by the press at Dewan MBSA Seri Pagi in Section U19, here yesterday.

Earlier, the Paya Jaras state assemblyman had during the Selangor Roda Darul Ehsan Initiative (RiDE) event handed over a mock-cheque worth RM343,080.

Meanwhile, Mohd Khairuddin added that he hopes all state representatives would be involved in contributing ideas during the state assembly sitting on improvements that can be done by the state government.

“I hope that they (the representatives) would not only be highlighting shortcomings but would together play a role in the development of the state administration,” he said.

The Selangor state assembly is set to convene from August 23 to September 6.
