Selvax: Second dose vaccination at Selcare clinics, info update via SELangkah

By Zareef Muzammil

BANGI, Aug 19 — Individuals who have received their first Covid-19 vaccine doses under the Selangor Vaccination Centre (Selvax) will get their second jab at selected Selcare panel clinics.

Evo Mall PPV coordinator Amiroel Zhafran Ismadi said the relocation was decided by the state government due to the high number of PPVs under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), which had resulted in reduced attendance of participants at the centres under Selvax.

“The move is taken to avoid the (additional) costs incurred such as manpower. Therefore, the PPVs under Selvax Community will cease operation on September 3.

“The appointments for the second dose will be carried out at the panel clinics located closest to the vaccine recipients. Details of the scheduled slots will be updated on SELangkah upon completion of the waiting period (of the first dose) at the observation room,” he said.

Amiroel had also assured that the clinics would not be overcrowded as the appointment slots will be given in groups and spread out in different locations.

He said there are over 2,000 clinics in operation and the appointments will be set based on the capacity of the clinic.

“If the vaccine recipients were given a new location far from their home, we will consider changing it to a nearby clinic.

“They would be required to submit their request via the helpdesk function on SELangkah. However, we believe the percentage of such cases would be low,” he said.

The state government has provided 500,000 doses of vaccines for 250,000 recipients in the state under Selvax Community.

As of yesterday, a total of 304,784 doses have been delivered under the Selvax initiative, which includes both Selvax Community and Selvax Industry, since it kicked off on June 28.

The effort has been recognised by the Federal government and included under PICK. Among the targeted groups for the programme are the low-income group, senior citizens and industrial workers.
