PETALING JAYA, Aug 22 — The public continues to submit requests for walk-in vaccinations under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) for the community (Selvax Community) despite the initiative had ended on August 13.

Tropicana Gardens Mall vaccination centre (PPV) coordinator Mohammad Zulmajdi Basyeer said people still show up at the centre without an appointment but had to be turned down as the Selvax programme is now focusing on the administration of the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Since the walk-in initiative was open to the public from August 3, more than 10,000 doses have been administered.

“This PPV had delivered more than 50,000 doses under both the Selvax Community and Industry initiatives since it was opened from June 26,” he said when met at the Tropicana Gardens Mall PPV, here yesterday.

Mohammad Zulmajdi said roughly 5,300 individuals have received the complete doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from the PPV under Selvax Community.

“Six state constituencies are involved, namely Bandar Utama, Paya Jaras, Kampung Tunku, Bukit Lanjan, Bukit Gasing and Kota Damansara,” he said.

Apart from Tropicana Gardens Mall, Selangor had set four other PPVs to cater to walk-ins from August 3 to 13, including Evo Mall in Bandar Baru Bangi, Aurora Place in Bukit Jalil, De Palma Hotel in Shah Alam and Kompleks Sukan PKNS in Kelana Jaya.

The state government had allocated 500,000 doses to get the 250,000 people within the community inoculated.
