SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — Issues related to tackling Covid-19 will be debated during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar said the people’s welfare agenda and the state’s economic recovery will also be discussed during sitting, which is scheduled until September 6.

“On behalf of the state government, we will adhere to His Royal Highness’s advice to focus on the efforts in helping the people who are facing difficulties due to the pandemic and economic slowdown.

“Hopefully the state assembly would be able to set the state government’s direction that would benefit the people,” he said on Facebook, today.

Earlier, the Selangor Ruler had graced the opening ceremony of the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 14th Selangor Legislative Assembly sitting.

In his royal address, Sultan Sharafuddin expressed his gratitude to the state government’s effort to provide various assistance packages to ease the people’s burden due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

His Royal Highness also reminded the politicians to not fall into power disputes and neglect their responsibilities to the people.

On July 9, Amirudin said the sitting will be conducted in accordance with strict standard operating procedures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.
